In ecathead 2.7.1 option -sum was added to calculate sum of pixel values instead of average, which still is the default mode.

People who have received diagnostic medical exams sometimes express concern about the risks of the radiation exposure from these exams. Pat Zanzonico has compared the risks and benefits of several medical studies at the 2007 ASNC meeting. 17/02: New release of imgslim
imgslim slices off empty parts in dynamic ECAT 6.3 or 7 images to save disk space and to allow faster loading of images in image processing software. New version has option -keepframes, then time frames are never sliced off.
