Quick guide for analysing data with CarimasTurku
Back to
CarimasTurku website.
Step 1.
Load the data
Step
2. Preprocess, reoritent and crop the data in the volume view window
Step 3.
Reorient data in reorientation window
Step
4. Perform the heart's segmentation in ROI definition window
Step
5. Perform modelling in the modelling window
Step 6. Report the result
Step 7.
Output the parametric volume
Step
1. Load the data
- File->OpenFile->ECAT->Ecat7/Ecat6
- File->OpenFile->DICOM
Note:
CarimasTurku only works with the dynamic PET data, static data is not
available for the current version.
Step
2. Preprocess, reoritent and crop the data in volume view window
After loading
the data, the volume view window will apear automatically as shown below.
Main functions of the step:
- Visualise the data.
- Make a "difference" image.
- Remove
a hotspot.
- Crop the heart volume.

Step
3. Reorient the data in the reorientation window
- Define
the long axis: it should be drawn from the apex to the base.
- Define
the centres of left and right ventricular cavities: it should be drawn from left to right one.

Step
4. Perform the heart's segmentation in the ROI definition window
- Automatic
segmenation of heart ROIs.
- User can guide
program to refine heart ROI definition using different tools.
- User
can modify heart ROIs manually.

Step
5. Perform modelling in the modelling window
- Special
modelling and analysis of 15O-water, 13N-ammonia, 82Rb and 11C-acetate.
- General graphic analysis:
Patlak, Logan and retention index, suitable for 18F-FDG and 18F-FTHA.
- Fitting
quality can be visualized.
- Polarmap can be output
as JPEG image.
- Segment fitting result can be
output in ASCII format text file.

Step
6. Report
- Patient, study and
isotopic information.
- Modelling results.
- Polarmap
- Heart
ROIs.
- 3D parametric volume.
- Analysis
date and time.

Step
7. Output of parametric volume
- Only
work when CarimasTurku works with GE ADW package.

This
3D heart of left ventricle, aorta and coronary tree is reconstructed
using CTA data (GE Discovery PET-CT) by GE ADW package. The colour on
left ventricular surface represents the perfusion absolute value
obtained by 15O-water study. Firstly, CarimasTurku generates a heart
volume based on heart ROIs and then maps polarmap flow value on the
volume of heart, furthermore. CarimasTurku outputs parametric volume as
DICOM format and send data back to GE ADW database for performing fuse
with CTA.
