Software Development Session

Research with positron emission tomography requires software development in each step, from running the cyclotrons and radionuclide synthesis devices to the PET scanners as well as the data analyses and storage. Software is the corner stone of Good PET Practice as it makes both GMP, GLP and GCP feasible, but the software development processes themselves are also subject to quality systems. This was evident from the scientific presentations in the Software Development session, which was held in parallel with the scientific programme of XI Turku PET Symposium (2008). Therefore, the XII Turku PET Symposium (28–31 May 2011) will again contain the Software Development session! Here, software developers will have even more opportunities for education and to meet other developers, potential collaborators and software end users, also in the commercial exhibition of the Symposium.
